Resonance Consultancy, the firm behind WorldsBestCities.com, has ranked Europe’s 100 best cities for 2023. Europe’s best cities 2023 ranks the Top 100 European cities to live, work and invest. The list takes into account various factors such as walkability, attractions, diversity, experiences, employment levels, and even Instagram hashtags.
London, UK, dubbed the “capital of capitals” by Resonance Consultancy, tops the list. The report highlights the city’s expanded underground network, new restaurant openings, and its ability to attract tech giants like TikTok and Instagram. Despite concerns about talent and capital flight due to Brexit and the pandemic, London’s resilience is attributed to a weakened currency that has attracted investment and tourists, as well as new wealthy residents who can now afford to invest in property in the city.
As per fDi Markets, the foreign investment tracker of the Financial Times, London has attracted the highest number of foreign direct investments (FDI) in the technology sector from international companies since 2018. This puts London ahead of other global cities such as New York, Singapore, and Dubai in terms of FDI inflows into the tech industry.
Paris, France, secured the second spot, lauded for its new cycling network and efforts to become a more walkable city, along with its extensive rail infrastructure. Amsterdam, Netherlands, claimed the third position, recognized for its innovative housing projects, including a neighborhood made entirely out of wood that is currently in development.
