London remains top global financial hub

London has once again been ranked the top global financial hub by the City of London Corporation, staying ahead of New York and Singapore across 102 measures.

The ranking looks at five key areas: financial activity, talent and skills, regulatory environment, business infrastructure, and the innovative ecosystem. Its lead came from being consistently strong across all of them for the sixth year in a row.

Chris Hayward, Policy Chairman at the City of London Corporation, summed it up simply: “London’s mix of advanced capital markets, innovative tech, and global talent continues to make it the first choice for international business.”

Mobility and Talent

For HR and global mobility teams, this ranking is more than news. It explains why London continues to be a destination for international assignments. Where global business goes, talent follows, and where talent goes, relocations follow.

London’s ability to attract and retain international professionals means a steady flow of employees and families moving into the UK for work across finance, tech, legal, media, and creative industries.

The Signal Behind the Headline

This ranking sends a clear signal to global employers: London remains a place where international business can thrive, supported by a deep talent pool, established infrastructure, and a regulatory environment that companies understand.

That consistency is exactly what drives ongoing global mobility into the city.
